Letting Go and Trusting God
I don’t know about you, but I do the same hair care steps each night before bed.... and wake up to VERY different results every day. I have learned to laugh as I sometimes have to just rock a messy bun. And I laugh even harder when my messy bun turns messier than I planned. This ain’t my first rodeo. I’ve been trying to tame this beast all my life and some days I just have to pick my battles, ha!

Honestly though, curly hair NEVER stays in place... because well, it doesn’t really have a “place”. Lately I have been thinking about this and maybe some things in life just don’t have a place? Perhaps in certain seasons of life “out of place” is the proper place? I know that “out of place” and “out of my control” may seem like the scariest phrases sometimes, but they help us to all-the-more deeply trust in the One who holds everything together. ⠀⠀

Lovely friend, admitting this doesn’t have to make you pull your hair out or send you spiraling into a pit of despair. These truths can set you free to step out of God’s shoes (which are alarmingly too big for any of us) and swan dive into His GRACE! You are not God, but you know Him! And boy, does He LOVE you! ⠀⠀

Out of your control is not the same as "out of control" in general.
Trust God with the broken pieces, uncertainties, and unresolved parts of your life today.
Let the "stray curls" teach you to just let go. ⠀⠀

Let the craziness of life help you find the good even amongst the chaos. The good is always there because God is always there. Take a moment with the Lord and offer up this prayer, "God, I feel really out of control when it comes to [fill in the blank], but I know you hold everything in Your hands. Please show me how to trust You even more with this situation. When I feel off-kilter, God, You are my solid ground. Fill me with Your peace that passes all understanding, and help me to walk in this special peace even when life feels crazy. In Jesus' name I pray, amen."
