God Is Not Out To Get You.

Do you ever feel like God is out to get you? Or, do you wait for circumstances in your life to go wrong? Lovely friend, God is not waiting to blindside you or attack you. Your Heavenly Father is transforming you and strengthening you. He is helping you and working all things (even the bad stuff) together for your GOOD.

“So we are convinced that EVERY DETAIL of our lives is continually woven together to fit into God’s perfect plan of bringing GOOD into our lives, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose.”

- Romans 8:28 TPT

I get it, life can be overwhelming. There have been some seasons in my life when it just felt like I was getting whacked by one wave after another without a moment in between to catch my breath. I thought I might drown in stress. This is where having the right perspective gets tricky for me... I tend to focus on the waves hitting me instead of God’s ocean of love surrounding me. In all the stress, I’ll admit that I can lose sight of God’s heart for me.

God is not “out to get you,” He wants to grow you.

God is FOR you, not ever against you.

God is always at work on something good in your life, and He never drops the ball.

To put it simply, what ever circumstances you are walking through, God’s got it and YOU covered. Perhaps you have always had faith in the Lord, but then something frightening and unforeseen happened to you recently that is making you doubt God’s faithfulness? No one wants to walk through something that is tragic or painful, but these kinds of events have a way of deepening our faith and helping us to trust in the Lord even more than we did before. It’s one thing to say that God is faithful, but it’s quite another to see God’s faithfulness in action!

When you feel like you have lost your footing and you are “free falling” into a season that is scary and unknown - don’t let fear trick you into doubting God’s love and care for you. The Lord is your Father, and He is a good one. When the ledge you are standing on gives way and you are plunging into uncertainty, know that God will always be there to catch you.

“The thought of my suffering and homelessness is bitter beyond words. I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, ‘The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!’”

‭‭- Lamentations‬ ‭3:19-24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.”

‭‭- Psalms‬ ‭23:4, 6‬ ‭NLT

“When life is heavy and hard to take, go off by yourself. Enter the silence. Bow in prayer. Don’t ask questions: Wait for hope to appear. Don’t run from trouble. Take it full-face. The “worst” is never the worst. Why? Because the Master won’t ever walk out and fail to return. If he works severely, he also works tenderly. His stockpiles of loyal love are immense. He takes no pleasure in making life hard, in throwing roadblocks in the way:”

‭‭- Lamentations‬ ‭3:28-33‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Can we take a moment and say this prayer together? “Lord, please work on the way I view my life tonight. Fix my perspective and turn my eyes towards You. Help me to remember that You are GOOD and always up to something GOOD in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
